Camp Petosega is a treasured family campground on the shores of Pickerel Lake in Emmet County, Michigan. With 90 campsites and seven rental cabins, families and individuals can find their perfect spot at this wooded, peaceful campground situated on 300 forested acres. Petosega is a favorite day-use park that is always free! Miles of wooded trails and the peaceful Berry Creek meander through this rural Emmet County park property. A sandy beach makes for a perfect daytime get-away.

Interested in learning how to fly fish? Join Trout Unlimited and our Parks and Recreation staff for an evening workshop at Camp Petosega’s Pavilion. No pre-registration or equipment required. Entry is free!
Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast
Each year, Emmet County Parks and Recreation invites the public and campers to a free pancake and sausage breakfast for Father’s Day at Camp Pet-O-Se-Ga. Breakfast will run 9 to 11AM on Sunday, June 16.
There is no charge for the breakfast. Campers are invited to enjoy breakfast at Camp Petosega’s Rec Hall. Come while supply lasts!
Petosega 5K Fun Run
Come join Emmet County Parks and Recreation for a 5K Run and walk for all ages which will benefit our local parks and facilities. This will take place at Camp Petosega in Alanson, Michigan on the cross country trail. Registration fee is $15 and $25 for signing up on the day of the event. Register early to secure a T-shirt while supply lasts.

Join us for one of our super fun Halloween Weekends on Saturday, October 5, or on Saturday, October 12! Park staff will be giving an award to the Best Decorated Campsite so campers are encouraged to spruce up their sites to get in the Halloween spirit! Trick-or-treating will take place from 5-7 p.m. with vehicle traffic restricted during that time through the campground. Emmet County Parks and Recreation staff will have free hot dogs, chips, and drinks near the campground office followed by a free Haunted Trail open 7:30-8:30 p.m. All activities are weather-permitting and the general public is welcome to come out and join in the fun!
