Educational sessions Dec. 22 include District Court, Circuit Court

Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, six of seven Emmet County Commissioners will be new to the Board of Commissioners.

To help prepare the new Commissioners and candidates, Emmet County Administrator Marty Krupa has scheduled Thursday evening educational sessions through the rest of the year that area designed to provide the Commissioner candidates with information about the various departments within Emmet County.

The public is also welcome to attend these sessions. At each session, Department officials will share details about their department and job responsibilities.

The next educational sessions take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, at the County Building, 200 Division St., downtown Petoskey, in the Board of Commissioners’ Room. Please note that due to the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Thursday, Dec. 15, there will be no special educational session that evening.

Presenting Dec. 22, 2016:

6 p.m. – Lisa Smith, Court Administrator 90th District Court

6:45 p.m. – The Hon. Charles Johnson – 57th Circuit Court Judge

Location: Board of Commissioners’ room

Note: Department Directors not currently scheduled will be scheduled before the end of the year; additional presentations will be posted as they are scheduled.
