POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining County financial records that pertain to State of Michigan IV-D accounts, as well as some Friend of the Court administrative duties pertaining to contract with the State of Michigan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist staff and clients with financial questions and concerns related to IV-D functions
Collect support payments in person, by credit card and on-line
Perform audits as requested (or by statute)
Enforce medical orders
Monitor all child support (per capita) payments from tribal entities
Complete requirements for internal audits as requested or required
Accept and process complaints for medical reimbursement
Process and maintain income withholding orders
Post support payments into MiCSES system and verify accuracy
Add new Friend of the Court cases into MiCSES system
Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to read a computer screen for extended periods of time, active listening skills, conflict resolution skills, de-escalation skills, ability to read and understand court and financial documents, proficient with Microsoft programs, specifically Microsoft Excel and 365. Knowledge of use of general office equipment including multi-line telephone system, multi-function copy machines and windows operating systems. Experience with governmental accounting principles and governmental grant funding requirements preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Bookkeeping/Accounting or 3-5 years relevant accounting experience preferably in a court or legal office.
