POSITION:  Camp Petosega Office Staff (Seasonal)
DEPARTMENT:  Parks & Recreation

RATE OF PAY:  $17.00
LOCATION:  Camp Petosega


Responsible for operating the campground check-in office, cleaning and housekeeping of cabins and bathhouses, and minor landscaping or maintenance at Camp Petosega.


  • Facilitate check-in process for campground guests by filling out camper permits, receiving emails and phone calls, and utilizing a campground management computer system
  • Assisting campers with general questions about the park and regional amenities
  • Utilize a point-of-sale management computer program to collect any payments owed, sell retail items, and follow daily deposit procedures
  • Performs general cleaning, janitorial/custodial cleaning, and trash collection at cabins and bathhouses
  • Help facilitate and distribute daily cleaning schedule to staff
  • Takes on landscaping, watering, gardening, beach cleaning, or planting projects as deemed necessary
  • Collaborate with team members to make sure the facilities, campsites, cabins, and bathhouses are clean and ready for guests upon check-in
  • Values teamwork, collaboration, customer service, professional appearance, and is friendly and helpful
  • Uses hand tools such as wheelbarrows, shovels, and rakes, to perform minor tasks such as painting, staining, and trail maintenance
  • Follows all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Working evenings and weekends as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Requires the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work most lawn and garden tools including mowers, weed whips and trimmers
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold and rain
  • Skilled in being able to shift quickly and multi-task based on changing facility needs
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds


  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 2-years grounds keeping/maintenance experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses Required

  • Valid drivers’ license
