RATE OF PAY: $58,505

To provide support for the County Treasurer, manage all aspects of the Treasurer’s Office in the Treasurer’s absence; create, monitor and maintain all office policies and procedures pertaining to accounting, cash collection, reconciliation & investing and supervise and backup all department staff.
Understand and execute all aspects of the tax collection cycle (50%)
Assist Treasurer in establishing & monitoring accounting, cash handling and internal controls for the collection process in all County departments and offices (30%)
Execute daily banking, monitor banking institutions and manage investment portfolio with the Treasurer (10%)
Supervise staff of 3 ensuring professionalism and compliance with all laws, policies and procedures (5%)
Stay abreast of all best practices, legislative and regulatory developments pertaining to the Treasurer’s Office (5%)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Proficiency in spreadsheet compilation and analysis, word processing and publishing software, analytical skills. Knowledge of fund accounting, cash handling and internal controls.
BA in accounting, 5 + years fund accounting experience preferred
Advanced Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (ACPFIM) & Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer (MiCPT)
