POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains Fairgrounds building, grounds and bike path in top condition to ensure full and productive use of the facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in maintaining buildings and grounds in top condition.
Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects
Mows lawn and bike path either by hand, power or riding mower and trims and edges around walks and buildings.
Sweeps walkways and bike paths clear of debris.
Cuts down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
Rakes, mulches, and prunes the grounds as needed.
Uses brooms, mops and floor equipment.
Cleans kitchens and bathrooms.
Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, equipment and prepares the buildings and grounds for events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Must be a reliable worker. Able to work with minimal supervisions.
Must have strong attention to detail. Ability to satisfactorily operate most grounds and landscaping tools (mowers, weed whips and trimmers). Able to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold or rain). Ability to multitask. Understands and follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma/GED required. 2+ years maintenance/grounds keeping preferred. Ability to read and understand chemical labels. Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid drivers’ license.
