A Special Meeting of the Emmet County Board of Commissioners is being called by William L. Shorter, Chairperson of the Emmet County Board of Commissioners, pursuant to Rules 2.4 and 3.3 of the Board’s Rules of Procedure for the purpose of clarification on the CCE911 millage issue to be placed on the November 6, 2018 General Election Ballot. The meeting will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Room, 200 Division Street, Petoskey, Michigan 49770, immediately preceding the Strategic Planning Meeting on the same day and time at the same location.

Polls are open until 8 p.m. today, Tue. Aug. 7th, for Michigan’s Primary Election. Candidates are selected today within their parties to vie for office in the November general election. In addition to candidates for federal, state, and county races, Emmet County voters will also decide on two ballot proposals for ballot proposals. One is to renew .25 mills for four years to support ambulance services, and the other is for .5 mills for four years for the purpose of planning, coordinating, and providing services to senior citizens.
