57th Circuit Court lauded in recent survey

The 57th Circuit Court in Emmet County recently received favorable results from a survey conducted in fall of 2015 regarding the public’s satisfaction with court services.

The 2015 Trial Court Public Satisfaction Survey results were released recently by the Michigan Supreme Court, which conducted the survey through state courts. According to the survey about the Emmet County court, 100 percent of respondents “strongly agree” or “agree” that they were treated with courtesy and respect by court staff. When asked about judges, magistrates and referees with the 57th Court, 96 percent strongly agreed or agreed that they were treated with courtesy and respect.

Another highlight: 85 percent of respondents reported that they were able to get their court business completed in a reasonable amount of time.

“It is important for us to receive feedback from the public and there is always room for improvement. However, to see data that shows we are doing our jobs serving the public is very gratifying,” said the Hon. Charles Johnson, who presides over the 57th Circuit Court. “Not everyone who walks in or out of our courtroom is satisfied with the results. It can be a stressful environment, but we strive to assist the public with their legal problems in the most efficient, courteous manner possible.”

The Circuit Staff includes Judge Johnson; Cheryl Fitzgerald, Circuit Court Administrator; and Juli Ryner, Circuit Court Assignment/Law Clerk.
