Sheriff Pete Wallin is pleased to announce that the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office received a 100% compliance rating on its annual jail inspection. Ever since 2002, the Emmet County Jail has attained this perfect rating. The inspection is done annually by the Michigan Department of Corrections County Jail Services Unit.
This perfect rating again is a reflection of a job well done by Jail Administrator Brenda Ford and her corrections staff at the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Wallin also noted the number one liability for counties in Michigan are their jails. This is proof again that Emmet County is providing a safe and secure jail system to serve the public, the inmates, and their families.
