On Friday, July 27, 2018 at approximately 1615 hrs. the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office located the missing subject in Crooked Lake from the incident on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, according to Sheriff Pete Wallin. Sheriff Wallin would like to thank everyone who helped in the search and rescue efforts over the last 3 days.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the search by Charlevoix County, Cheboygan County, Antrim County and Roscommon County Sheriff’s Offices, Michigan DNR, the US Coast Guard, the Springvale Fire Department, Resort/Bear Creek Fire Department, Emmet EMS, Michigan State Police and the American Red Cross.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
