On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, Deputies from the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kenneth Double, age 47, Indian River, MI, on charges of six counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree (life felony) and six counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree (15 year felony), according to Sheriff Pete Wallin. The alleged criminal sexual conduct incidents were reported to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office on February 27, 2018. Sheriff’s detectives conducted an investigation of the alleged criminal sexual conduct that occurred approximately 10 years ago. The victim alleged she was sexually assaulted by Kenneth Double, multiple times between the ages of 8 and 10 years old. The assaults occurred in Bear Creek Twp., Emmet County.
Information from the investigation of the alleged sexual assaults were turned over to the Emmet County Prosecutors Office for their review. On Tuesday, March 6, 2018 the Emmet County Prosecutors Office authorized an arrest warrant. Double was arraigned in 90th District Court on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Bond was set at $75,000 Cash/Surety. Double remains lodged in the Emmet County Jail.
