“I am honored and humbled to be given this responsibility,” said MacInnis. “It is important to me and I intend to serve in a way that I hope the residents will find to be open, honest and forthright.”

Scheel, serving his first term on the Board, said: “I’m really happy that the Board chose me as Vice Chair. I am impressed with our first meeting and the changes that are going to bring the public closer to this Board and give them the information they deserve to have.”

In addition to appointing leadership roles, the Board made changes to its rules and meeting schedule, opting to eliminate standing committees such as Finance, Building and Grounds, Personnel and others. Instead, the board will evaluate staff recommendations and make decisions as a “committee of the whole.”
