Boy killed after being run over by pick-up truck

On Sunday, October 2, 2016, at approximately 1:10 p.m., the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office responded to a incident where a 3 year old had been run over by a motor vehicle, on Luesing Road, in Carp Lake Township, according to Sheriff Pete Wallin.  A 2007 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Emily Cordray, age 27, Levering, MI., ran over 3 year old Nathan Cordray, also from Levering MI.  Nathan was pushing a stroller, when he did so into the path, and out of sight of Emily Cordray.  Nathan Cordray was pronounced dead at the scene by Emmet County EMS.  Sheriff Wallin stated at this point in the investigation, the accident is believed to be nothing more than a tragic accident that took the life of Nathan Cordray.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cordray family during this difficult time.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Emmet County EMS, Carp Lake Fire Department, and the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office Victim Service Unit.
