On January 9, 2018 Deputies from the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lisa Rae Bryan of Alanson, age 32 yrs., on charges of Second Degree Murder, Involuntary Manslaughter, Obstructing Police and Habitual Offender. Charges stem from an investigation into the death of Bryan’s infant daughter in November of 2016.
On November 1, 2016, investigators from the sheriff’s office were called to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey for the report of an infant death. Isabella Rae Powrozek (10-6-16) was reportedly found unresponsive while in the care of her mother, Lisa (Powrozek) Bryan. After an extensive investigation, the Sheriff’s Office presented their findings to the Emmet County Prosecutor’s Office, and the above charges were authorized. Arraignment in the 90th District court is expected to take place this morning.
