FAIR TIME SCHEDULE
The 2021 Emmet-Charlevoix County Fair officially kicks off on Tuesday, August 24, and runs through Sunday, August 29. Some 4-H activities get underway several days prior to the fair’s official start and horse shows on Saturday, August 21, and Sunday, August 22, will help get everyone in the Fair Time spirit! The fair’s detailed schedule is listed below.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 20
► 4 pm to 7 pm ┅ Optional drop off period for 4-H projects to the Community Center
SATURDAY, AUGUST 21
► Begins at 8:30 am ┅ Open Horse Show (in horse arena)
► 9 am to 11 am ┅ 4-H project entries arrive at the Community Center
► 11 am to 1 pm ┅ Community Center closed to prepare for judging
► 1 pm to 5 pm ┅ Judging of 4–H Exhibits
► 1 pm to 6 pm ┅ Open Class registration (nonperishable only, no animals)
► 5 pm to 6 pm ┅ 4–H Club display setup (optional)
► 6 pm ┅ Community Center closes
SUNDAY, AUGUST 22
► 7 am to Noon ┅ All Open Class and 4–H livestock arrives
► 9 am to 11:30 am ┅ Pullorum Testing for all poultry
► 9 am to Noon ┅ Open Class & 4-H poultry, rabbits, pocket pets, and fowl arrive
► Noon to 6 pm ┅ Open Class (registration for all open class entries)
► Noon to 6 pm ┅ 4-H Club display setup
► Begins at 1 pm ┅ Open Speed Horse Show (in horse arena)
► Begins at 6 pm ┅ Market Livestock record book judging
► 6 pm ┅ Community Center and all barns close
► 7 pm ┅ Worship Service (on back stage of the Community Center)
MONDAY, AUGUST 23
► Begins at 9 am ┅ Open Class judging in Community Center (note: building will be closed until judging is completed)
► Begins at 4 pm ┅ 4–H Animal Husbandry, Cloverbud, and Open Class Swine Show (in barns)
► Begins at 6 pm ┅ 4–H Market Livestock Swine Show (in barns)
TUESDAY, AUGUST 24
► 9 am to 6 pm ┅ Senior Citizen and Handi-capable Day (free gate admission)
► 10 am to 9 pm ┅ Community Center open to public with 100s of exhibits, LEGO Bricktown display, homemade pies and food
► 2 pm to 10 pm ┅ Skerbeck Family Carnival rides and midway
► Three shows a day ┅ Firefighter Show for Kids (next to fair office)
► Begins at 9 am ┅ 4–H Animal Husbandry, Cloverbud, and Open Class Poultry Shows (in barn)
► Follows Poultry Show ┅ 4–H Animal Husbandry, Cloverbud, and Open Class Waterfowl Shows (in barn)
