If you love motor sports and high-action excitement, the 109th Annual Emmet-Charlevoix County Fair will be the place for you next week!

The Fair welcomes back Autocross action and Michigan Monster Truck Shootout during Fair week, both in the grandstands in front of thousands of cheering fans!

On Friday, Aug. 22, catch the Action of Autocross, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand. Cash and trophies await the winners in the races and all are welcome to enter. Just get a car, do some minor safety modifications like remove the side windows, show up for the racers’ check-in and then it rip on the track. Click here for Autocross rules and registration forms.

Tickets to the Autocross event are $10 for ages 13 and up; 12 and under enter free. (Remember there is a $5 gate admission into the Fairgrounds for those 13 and up).

On Saturday, Aug. 23, get ready to hear the roar of the Monster Trucks! You’ll see high-flying, car-crushing competition by machines like Ballistic, Predator and Prowler, plus Rap Attack and other big, bad trucks! After the show, you can meet the drivers, get autographs and photos as well.

Local drivers are invited to take part in the Show-N-Shine and Ugly Truck Competitions. Contact the Fair office for details (231) 347-1010. Ticket prices to the Monster Truck show are $17 for ages 13 and up (or 2/$25 in advance); Ages 2-12 cost is $7; and under 2 enter free.
